Shaya is a compassionate and passionate Child and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Counselling and an Honours B.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour. As a client-centred practitioner, Shaya believes in the resilience of her clients and works collaboratively with them to address their unique goals and challenges.
In her therapeutic practice, Shaya employs an integrative approach, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), family systems therapy as well as using play-based interventions and mindfulness. Shaya’s goal is to help her clients develop healthy coping skills, build emotional resilience, and achieve positive outcomes in their lives.
Enthusiastic about creating a warm, non-judgmental, and safe therapeutic environment, Shaya values empathy, collaboration, and commitment. She fosters an engaging space where children, teens, and families feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their emotions. Through creative, sensory and evidence-based techniques, Shaya strives to make therapy both effective and enjoyable, ensuring that each session is engaging and meaningful for her clients.
