Dr. Joyce Li

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. Joyce Li provides warm and empathetic clinical care to children, adolescents, and families experiencing complex mental health issues, challenging life transitions, and difficulties in relationships.
Dr. Li completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University and her predoctoral residency at Alberta Children’s Hospital. Her main areas of interest include depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, parenting, and attachment. She has experience working with children and adolescents who are coping with trauma, loss, and separation, and with youth in foster, kinship, and adoptive care.
At Family Psychology Centre, Dr. Li works closely with parents, caregivers, and educators to create an individualized support plan that best meets the needs of each child. She provides evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety disorders, exposure and response prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT) and attachment-based approaches to enhance family relationships.
