Ayda is currently a doctoral student in School and Child Clinical Psychology (SCCP) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (University of Toronto). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York University and a Master’s degree in SCCP from the University of Toronto. With extensive experience working with children and adolescents facing mental health and learning challenges, including ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, mood disorders, and intellectual disabilities, she has provided individual and family services in various settings such as schools (Toronto District School Board), OISE Psychology Clinic, and private practice.
Ayda is passionate about utilizing evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). In her practice, she seeks to create a warm, collaborative environment aimed at fostering empathy, growth, and positive relationships. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and families, incorporating person-centered and strength-based approaches to support their emotional and developmental needs across home, school, and community settings.
Her research and clinical interests focus on language and literacy, with a special emphasis on understanding the development and progression of higher-order language skills in English Language Learners (ELLs). This passion drives Ayda’s dedication to enhancing communication and literacy development in diverse populations.
