CLINICAL ASSOCIATE

Aaron is a Clinical Associate offering therapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and families as well as consultation to parents. In supporting his clients, Aaron utilizes emotion focused approaches, such Emotion Focused Therapy for Youth (EFT-Y) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), as well as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and supportive counselling. Since 2010, Aaron has worked with young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, executive functioning challenging, and undiagnosed behaviour challenges. In addition to CBT, Aaron has experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis to help youth main functional gains and succeed at home, school, and in their social lives. Aaron’s extensive background in visual arts, music, and athletics help build rapport and a strong therapeutic relationship with his clients, allowing flexibility in communication and the therapeutic process. Aaron’s approach is client-centred, emphatic, and collaborative; clients are the expert on what they want for themselves and therapists facilitate the process.
After attaining his Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia and working for several years in the film and television industry, Aaron gained extensive experience providing support to children and youth. His earned his Master of Psychology degree from Adler Graduate Professional School and is currently a qualifying member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Aaron works under the supervision of Dr. Mirisse Foroughe and offers in person, virtual, and hybrid options for therapy.
