STUDENT THERAPIST
Darwin Lyons (she/her) is dedicated to bringing empathy and caring to each of her clients. She is currently completing a Master’s in Psychology from Adler Graduate Professional School and is working under the supervision of Dr. Mirisse Foroughe. Darwin’s path to therapy is enriched by her diverse professional background. Her experience spans theatre, film, education, the service industry, and tech. In theatre, she worked closely with young people, fostering their artistic skills through deep attunement and listening. This breadth of experience informs her therapeutic practice, allowing her to weave diverse perspectives into her understanding and support of each client.
Darwin uses an integrative approach drawing primarily from Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), motivational interviewing and mindfulness. She embraces a person-centered philosophy, recognizing that every individual is an expert in their own life. Darwin’s role as a therapist is to listen attentively and foster growth, meeting each person where they are. She listens with her whole body and being, tuning into each client in the present moment.
Darwin brings a social justice lens to her work and believes in uplifting all the parts of a human that make them unique, including (bit not limited to) their ethnic background, LGBTQIA2s++ identity and equitable needs. Darwin is honoured to work and live on Turtle Island. She identifies as a lifelong learner and would love to learn more about you and support you on your therapeutic journey.
