Maria Ilieff

DOCTORAL RESIDENT
Maria Ilieff is a PhD student at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. She is currently completing her doctoral residency at the Toronto Area Residency Consortium, providing intervention and assessment services to children and adolescents through the Family Psychology Centre and the Toronto District School Board. At the Family Psychology Centre, Maria’s practice is informed by Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and relational frameworks. She aims to foster trusting, open, and collaborative relationships with her clients and to adapt services to their individual needs. Maria also works with caregivers to support their children’s psychological needs.
Maria received her Master’s degree in School and Clinical Child Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. Previously, Maria completed a placement at the Sick Kids Centre for Community Mental Health, where she provided adolescent mental health assessments, as well as intervention services to children and families. Maria has also held positions conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments at the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships, and the OISE psychology clinic. In recognition of her research contributions, Maria has received Ontario Graduate Scholarships at the Doctoral level, the Canada Graduate Scholarship – Master’s from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and the Canadian Psychological Association Academic Excellence Award.
