Dr. Ellen Drumm
M.A., PH.D., C. PSYCH. (Supervised Practice)
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Ellen offers assessment and therapy services for children, adolescents, parents, and families. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, and she has held positions at the SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Toronto District School Board.
Ellen strives to meet each child and family with warmth, empathy, non-judgment, and humour. She is consistently in awe of the human capacity for courage and vulnerability in the face of life’s challenges. She has experience supporting families who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, family and relationship difficulties, and problems with emotion regulation. She integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of each family, including Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT and EFT), Attachment-Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and play-based approaches.
In addition to her therapy practice, Ellen is thrilled to offer socioemotional, psychoeducational, cognitive/gifted, and autism assessments. Ellen specialized in autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities over 9 years working and conducting research at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Her passion project is better understanding parents’ experiences receiving a diagnosis of autism for their child – in the hope that clinicians can be as helpful as possible during the assessment process.
