Anisa is a doctoral trainee at the University of Toronto/OISE where she received her Master’s degree in School and Clinical Child Psychology in 2022. She has experience working with children, teens, and families in educational and clinical settings, having held positions at the Toronto District School Board, the OISE Psychology Clinic, and The Therapy Centre. In these positions, Anisa provided individual therapy and comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to children and adolescents presenting with a variety of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, ASD, and intellectual and learning disabilities. On top of this, Anisa also has experience working with children with selective mutism at the Confident Kids Summer Camp.
At the Family Psychology Centre, Anisa draws on evidence-based interventions to tailor treatment to her clients’ individual needs and preferences. She uses a collaborative, relational, and strengths-based approach in her work, providing assessment, consultation, and therapy for children, adolescents, families, and caregivers. Anisa provides several modalities of treatment, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy for Youth (EFT-Y), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
