FPC Training Portal

Welcome to the Training Portal at Family Psychology Centre, your source for high quality training in clinical psychology, assessment and therapy for clients of all ages, Emotion Focused Therapy for Youth (EFT-Y), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and more.

Our online, hybrid, and in-person learning opportunities have been developed to train health care providers through webinars, formal training and certification, residency, as well as individual and group supervision.

Our trainers have provided extensive clinical teaching to hundreds of psychology practicum students and residents, as well as consultation to agencies, schools, and hospitals, including the Toronto District School Board, Bishop Strachan School, Toronto French School, the Hospital for Sick Children, Child Development Institute, Sick Kids Centre for Community Mental Health, The Rock, Native Child and Family Services, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and North York General Hospital.

Students, Trainees, and Health Care Providers

Providing mental health care to children, adults, couples, and families is a dynamic career and can involve a great deal of uncertainty. Our training programs, practicum and residency opportunities, and clinical supervision provide the theoretical, technical, and practical skills that you need to build greater confidence in your clinical practice whether you use cognitive, behavioural, interpersonal, art and play-based, or emotion focused approaches.

Through the TARC residency, Family Psychology Center is a CPA-accredited child and family clinical psychology internship site with the required educational seminars, supervision, and supervised practice opportunities in place. Over the past 10 years, FPC has successfully supported hundreds of trainees at various levels of experience, including the first practicum placement for students, supervised practice for psychologists, and adding new skills and competencies for seasoned professionals.

FPC’s Clinical Director, Dr. Mirisse Foroughe, was Ontario’s first full-time child and family psychologist at a Family Health Team, and is the developer of Emotion Focused Therapy for Youth (EFT-Y). We have several of the internationally certified EFT-Y and EFT-Family (EFT-F) trainers and supervisors on our team, including Dr. Rachel Moline, Kristina Cordeiro, and Evgenia Khilov. In affiliation with the Emotion Transformation Institute, we offer the popular 2-day intensive workshop featuring Emotion Focused Therapy for caregivers and families as well as individual and group supervision for clinicians locally and internationally.
